My beautiful bride, Sandra, and I, had a conversation last night. We love our country. On November 9, 2016 our lives were changed. We didn’t want this to happen, but because we are normal Americans who care not only about ourselves and our families, but also about all of our nation’s people, we have experienced things we did not want to for nearly one and one-half years. We have found ourselves more concerned with the future of those we love more than at any other time in our lives.
We refuse to accept a man who lies every time he opens his mouth as our president. We refuse to believe that the most immoral man in the world has been allowed to live in the White House. We refuse to think that millions of Americans elected a white supremacist as our nation’s leader.
Because of these facts, most of our daily lives have been spent with attempts to inform our fellow Americans of the truth. Last evening, we faced the fact that most of our nation’s people are not concerned; they are complacent, and refuse to be informed and face the truth. We spend much of our time writing about the truth, and the only result has been a personal deep and growing depression. Together, we decided to end our sad existence. The numbers of people who listen to us are inconsequential. What will happen will happen, and the sad truth is that most of our nation’s people will accept the end of the America of our founding fathers and the beginnings of a totalitarian state.
Beginning tomorrow, we will place ourselves first. Our happiness and our security will become our only focus. We are surrendering to the people; if they don’t care, we can no longer fight for them.
Sandy will be 68 this year, and I will be 72. We have fought for our nation’s future for most of our adult lives; but if you don’t care, why should we?
Okay; much of that was written in anger. We will not stop offering the truth to the majority of our nation’s people, but this will no longer be the focus of our daily lives. You must decide to become activists or suffer the consequences of a fascist and uncaring government. It’s your choice; not ours.
