‘Suck-up Sarah Sanders’ swore over and over again that ‘National Security Adviser, H.R. McMaster was not leaving his position.’ Trump, himself, told the media that ‘H.R. McMaster was doing a great job.’ Today, General McMaster is no longer a member of Trump’s White House staff.
In 14 months and three days the turnover rate in the Trump administration is about 44 percent.
Next up for Trump’s third national security adviser is John Bolton. On his resume he lists ‘Ambassador to the United Nations;’ this is misleading. He was an interim ambassador under George W. Bush, but his comments about the U.N. convinced Trump that he would not be confirmed by the Senate.
Bolton opposes the United Nations. He has called it a ‘farce,’ and ‘ineffectual.’ He once said that 10 floors could be removed from the U.N. Building and they would not be missed.
Bolton has long advocated a first strike on North Korea; gleefully risking nuclear warfare. He has proven himself to be an ignorant and dangerous man for the American people, and for the world. Now he will be in charge of national security.
The one thing the former FOX personality shares with Trump is his temperament. His staff frequently claimed that he would slip into fits of rage in a split second; screaming at them and calling them names.
One incident in 1994, when Melody Townsel was stationed in Kyrgyzstan on a US AID project, reveals Bolton’s serious mental instability.
Bolton was a key figure in what became a controversial matter; opposing the views of Ms. Townsel. The result was a horrifying experience for the woman.
“Mr. Bolton proceeded to chase me through the halls of a Russian hotel – throwing things at me, shoving threatening letters under my door and, generally, behaving like a madman. For nearly two weeks, while I awaited fresh direction from my company and from US AID, John Bolton hounded me in such an appalling way that I eventually retreated to my hotel room and stayed there. Mr. Bolton, of course, then routinely visited me there to pound on the door and shout threats.”
Ms. Townsel also stated that he insulted her weight, her hair and berated her with other personal attacks.
The latter was part of a letter she sent to the senate suggesting that they not confirm Bolton as Ambassador to the United Nations in 2005.
Bolton is emblematic of the type of individuals Trump prefers on his staff.
Finally, the ouster of Rex Tillerson and H.R. McMaster both came after they denounced Russia for its interference in our election, and for the alleged poisoning of a former Russian spy in England. Coincidence? I think not.
