If you don’t know who Laura Ingraham is, you are probably a sane and intelligent member of society. If you know who Rush Limbaugh is, you know almost everything about Igraham.
Ingraham committed the ultimate sin; she chose to attack a survivor of the Marjory Stonemen Douglas High School massacre. This is not the first time the failed radio and FOX Noise personality has made an ass of herself, but this time it has hurt her where it counts; in her wallet.
Last Saturday all of America discovered heroes we can believe in; our nation’s next generation of voters. They are leading a revolution which did not begin with politics; it began with their right to live and to attend school without fear of an attack from a lone gunman with a military killing machine.
Those on the right wing such as Ingraham have moved these young Americans into the world of politics by attacking them personally and attempting to lie about their motives. The extreme right wing has revealed a lack of respect far beyond what they have demonstrated for the last 25 years.
Republicans are despicable and not worthy of our votes.
Igraham chose a target who is respected not only at his high school, but across America. David Hogg is a senior in Parkland. He began attacking the NRA and any politician who accepts money from the gun lobby immediately after the attack which murdered 17 students and educators. He is articulate, intelligent and charismatic; Ingraham is none of these. She claimed that young Mr. Hogg was rejected by four universities although he has a 4.1 grade average. She insinuated that these rejections were based on his ‘character.’
“David Hogg Rejected By Four Colleges To Which He Applied and whines about it,” Ingraham said in the tweet.
Mr. Hogg did not choose to counterattack the right wing extremist, instead he asked his 600,000 followers to contact her advertisers and ask them to no longer support Igraham’s pitiful broadcasts. He listed all of them, and as of this date, Nestle, Trip Adviser, Expedia, Nutrish, and Wayfair have announced that they are removing their advertising.
This is the only thing Republicans understand. Money is their god, and it begins at the top. Trump is using the national treasury as his personal bank. His supporters consider themselves and their personal welfare far more important than our nation and our people.
One last thought. I do not believe in heroes other than our families and ourselves. However, I have several today, and the leaders of this youth movement in our nation have become Emma Rodriguez and David Hogg.
I doubt that I would have had the courage or the conviction to stand before the world and fight for my beliefs when I was in high school. I was focused on my starting position on the varsity basketball team and my girlfriend; in that order. At nearly 72 years of age, I am proud to follow these young men and women. They will not end their battle, and they will win.
Laura Ingraham, Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and others must step aside or be run over. Change is here.
