One of Trump’s most idiotic ideas was to place tariffs on steel and aluminum. The reaction of nations affected by the tariff has been to retaliate with their own. China is the latest nation to announce its own intentions.

Trump’s ignorance regarding international trade has already forced him to retreat from his tariffs on most nations.

However, he has not removed tariffs on China. Approximately three percent of our nation’s imported steel comes from China, and much of that is specialized product which is not manufactured in the United States.

China has announced that they will place a 25 percent tariff on imported food products from the United States if the tariffs remain intact. American farmers are currently engaged in a three-billion dollar arrangement with the Chinese government.

Trump’s decision to impose tariffs were so idiotic that his chief financial adviser, Gary Cohn walked out. Trump’s refusal to listen to individuals who are far more intelligent and informed than he is has cost our nation dearly, and this is after only 14 months and 12 days in office.

Trump will not place tariffs on Ivanka’s products; which are all manufactured in China, nor on electronics. Many of the items produced in the electronic industry are specifically for American consumers.

Finally, you must remember that Trump made the decision to impose tariffs immediately after another Trump supported candidate was trounced in Pennsylvania. Temper tantrums can harm an entire nation when they are experienced by it’s illegitimately elected leader.
