If you love your country as much as I do, you dream about Trump being tried for treason and placed in a federal prison for life. Millions of real Americans would declare that day a national holiday.
I have another dream. I would be ecstatic if the people of Texas voted for the best candidate in November, and removed Ted Cruz from office.
Cruz has been a disruptive force in our government for nearly six very long years. He has been described as ‘the most hated man in Washington;’ of course that was prior to Trump’s gift from the Electoral College.
The greatest difference between Trump and Cruz is that Cruz is cognizant of what he is doing; Trump is mentally incompetent.
Texans generally vote for any candidate who has an “R” next to his or her name on the ballot. However, a young Democrat by the name of Beto O’Rourke is challenging Cruz for his seat in the senate this November.
“BREAKING: We raised $6.7 million in the first 3 months of 2018. No PACs, no special interests. Just people. More than 141,000 grassroots contributions. Grateful to all of you,” O’Rourke tweeted.
O’Rourke’s efforts have been focused on visiting as many of Texas’ voters as possible at multiple gatherings throughout the state. Cruz has followed the Republican strategy of attacking his opponent with lies and innuendos.
After Trump was elected, Texas began moving away from its Republican solidarity. The latest poll reveals that 54 percent of all Texans disapprove of Trump’s performance.
During the campaign Trump and Cruz maintained a serious battle of words. At one time Trump literally called Cruz’ wife Heidi ‘ugly,’ and later claimed that Cruz’ father conspired with Lee Harvey Oswald to assassinate President Kennedy. After Trump won the party’s nomination in July of 2016, Cruz followed his primary financier, Robert Mercer, and two top campaign staffers, Steve Bannon and Kellyanne Conway, and joined Trump’s campaign. The word is ‘hypocrite.’
Cruz does not have one positive accomplishment to his credit in six years. He is a self-serving egomaniac who seeks reelection for a single reason; he wants to run for the presidency once again in 2020.
If the people of Texas decide to serve themselves and those they love, they will vote for O’Rourke and remove another failed politician from his life of luxury and privilege.
