Ralph Norman is a Republican member of the House, representing South Carolina. Norman is 64 years old; too old to represent a nation whose average age is 37.8 years of age. He is also a tool of the NRA, and proved on Friday that he lacks the intelligence to serve the people of his state.

He held a meeting with his constituents, in which voters expected a fluid and informative event. Instead the ignorant, old, white man pulled out a loaded Smith and Wesson .38 pistol, placed it on a table for a few minutes, and told the crowd: “I’m not going to be a Gabby Giffords,” Norman said afterward, referring to the former Arizona Democratic congresswoman who was shot outside a Tucson-area grocery store during a constituent gathering in 2011.

He proved two things. He is a puppet for the NRA, and his gun is more important than the lives of the people he represents.

Lori Freemon, a volunteer with the South Carolina chapter of a gun control group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, argued Norman’s actions were “a far cry from what responsible gun ownership looks like.”

“I had looked forward to a respectful dialogue with my representative about common-sense gun violence prevention policies,” said Freemon, one of three people who were talking to Norman at the time.

“Instead, I felt unsafe when he insisted on showing us his loaded gun and keeping it out on the table for much of our conversation,” she said.

If Norman was attempting to counteract the “March For Our Lives,” and ignore the need for stricter gun laws in America, he failed. All he did was anger those in attendance, as well as inspire Democrats to attack his moronic actions.

Norman forgets that he and every other member of the House is up for reelection in November. Today all voters are looking to our nation’s high school students to lead us. Their passion and intellect have inspired not only their older brothers and sisters; millennials; they have renewed the hope and patriotism of this 71-year-old man. I now believe that we can take our country back from Republicans in name only who have failed the majority for the last 25 years.

We can end growing racism in America. We can find a way to save undocumented workers who are badly needed for multiple reasons. The Constitution will return as the law of the land and protect the religious beliefs of all Americans. Women will take the equality which is guaranteed them by that same Constitution.

Women and millennials are our largest two voting blocs, and they will remove the failed, old, white men from Washington. God bless all Americans, and that does not include Trump and his failed Republican politicians; they do not believe in my America.
