Right wing extremists continue to attack the students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. They do this for a single reason; they are afraid to offend the gun lobby, known as the NRA. This may be the biggest mistake by GOP politicians in their less than respectable existence during the last 25+ years.

I am 71 years of age, and I am one of many patriots who may not be members of our younger generation and future voters, but recognize a movement which is passionate, intelligent, and supportive of my America. America has received a transfusion of loyalty and integrity.

Republicans were given a gift in 2016 thanks to Vladimir Putin, and Robert Mercer. The most immoral, unqualified, and treasonous man in history was gifted the Electoral College.

Republicans in name only now had control of all three branches of our government, and that fact began an escalation of the war against the working class, minorities, and women.

Some facts must be revealed here. My generation; baby boomers; are no longer America’s largest voting demographic. We have been replaced by millennials; men and women who are 18 to 35 years of age. The next largest group will be young Americans who are now in high school. Both groups are currently being ignored by the failed Republican Party.

Here are some facts which Trump will attempt to deny but will withstand even the most vicious tweet storm.

A large majority of Americans believe that our gun laws must be changed and would not be a violation of our second amendment. Military assault rifles and high-output magazines are unnecessary in America unless your desire is to become a mass murderer.

The ‘March For Our Lives’ and other gun control groups have attracted enormous support since Valentine’s Day last February.

Progressive voter registration has received a larger number than at any other time in a midterm election.

More women are registered to vote and to run for public office than men.

More women are enrolled in our universities than men for the third consecutive year in our nation’s history.

Changes are imminent, and if the current trend continues into the November election, the House and Senate will be under the control of Democrats and Independents. The America of our founding fathers will be restored, and the influence of Putin and Mercer will be negated by true patriots.

For the first time since the corrupted election of 2016, I and the majority of Americans feel hope and a belief that our nation can be saved. Trump will become powerless if his hypocritical party is removed from power in Washington.

America belongs to you; not to our government.
