The Failures of Mitch McConnell Are the Reasons why Democrats must Regain Control of the Senate

McConnell (3)

Mitch McConnell has been a United States Senator for more than 30 years; far too long. During his tenure, he has not accomplished a single positive effort for the people of Kentucky or the citizens of the United States. As the Senate Majority Leader, he has obstructed justice many times as he placed his failed party ahead of the people of our country and our nation’s future. He will be remembered as the worst senator in history; he is the poster boy for why term limits are a must. McConnell’s failed leadership is one of the primary reasons why our government remains dysfunctional.

Senators from both sides of the aisle believe that Special Investigator Robert Mueller must be protected from Trump’s weak temperament. There is a real danger that the madman in the White House will fire Mr. Mueller to protect his pathetic presidency. Congress could pass a resolution removing Trump’s ability to fire Mueller, but McConnell refuses to bring the issue to a vote. He is once again bowing to his fuhrer, and placing the people of the United States in a lesser priority than his party, while protecting the worst president in American history.

“I’m the one who decides what we take to the floor, that’s my responsibility as the majority leader, we will not be having this on the floor of the Senate,” he said.

If Democrats regain control of the Senate our nation will be rid of McConnell’s autocratic rule over the legislative branch of our nation’s government.

Chris Coons is a Democrat from Delaware, and had this to say about McConnell’s unilateral decision.

“I don’t know from where Leader McConnell gets his confidence Trump will not take action to interfere with this investigation,” he said. “Given the number of times in recent days the President has tweeted or spoken directly or indirectly in ways that I think threaten the investigation led by Special Counsel Mueller.”

Senate Minority Leader, Chuck Schumer, had this to say.

“While I’m glad the majority leader believes the President would be wrong to fire Special Counsel Mueller, it’s a mistake not to pass legislation to protect the investigation,” he said in a statement. “We ought to head off a constitutional crisis at the pass, rather than waiting until it’s too late. … I hope the Judiciary Committee moves forward with a bill, and that members of Senator McConnell’s caucus push him to reconsider.”

Am I the only patriot who is tired of Democrats without courage? As the minority party, the only powers Democrats possess are words, and those words must be stronger and more accusatory. The fact is that Trump, McConnell, and Ryan have instituted a one-party rule in Washington; this is pure fascism.

Finally; any elected official who places his or her party ahead of the American people is unfit to serve.

The latter refers to every member of the Republican Party. We can rid our nation of these self-serving and ambitious men and women on November 6, 2018. Your vote is powerful; please use it.
