America’s greatest asset is that we are the most diverse nation in the world. This singular fact is what offers our nation the opportunity to become the greatest nation in the world. Because racism has dominated our culture from the day we became a nation, we have never been ‘great.’ This nation was founded on individual freedom and equality, but it has never existed for all Americans since its inception. Although when we were young we were told ‘anyone can grow up to be president,’ I did not believe that until now. America has its first non-American president, who is a white supremacist and a sexual predator. I guess it was true.

Before I am no longer here, I would love to see a president who represents all Americans, not just a small segment of our population. Ideally that person would be a 40-year-old black woman, who would be a member of the LGBTQ community, and a Muslim. That’s how I see America, and that’s what our founding fathers wanted to protect.

I hardly ever go on Facebook, but today I wanted to see if my daughter posted any new pictures of my granddaughters. As I scrolled down, I saw a post which once again proved that millions of Americans continue to choose ignorance over the truth. It said that ‘the reason liberals hate Donald Trump is because he is a Christian, and has cleaned up the mess left by Democrats.’ I’m not making this up.

History proves that Democrats are always ‘cleaning up messes left by Republicans. Going back to Bill Clinton, he inherited a large deficit and our nation was in a fiscal mess. Unemployment was growing as the policy of ‘trickle down economics’ failed badly. He left office in 2001; our country had a surplus, and the nation was in excellent shape.

President Barrack Obama entered office in 2009. Our nation was in a near depression; unemployment was high, the deficit had reached into the trillions, and we were engaged in two unwinnable wars. Now Trump is in the White House. He, and other wealthy Americans are flourishing, but not the working class. He has once again adopted the the fiscal policy of trickle down economics, and it is failing once again. Hopefully a female Democrat will be elected in 2020 and clean up Donny Boy’s mess.

Meanwhile, we can stop Trump’s unconstitutional and anti-American agenda in November. Vote Republicans out of office and Trump will be powerless.
