Trump Supporters Were Angry about the Failure of Congress; It’s Worse since Trump’s Inauguration

Capitol (3)

Donald Trump made many promises to his ignorant supporters during the 2016 campaign. The facts prove that he has not kept one of them if you honestly examine his “tax reform bill.” Among them, he promised ‘to build a wall between Mexico and the United States, and they would pay for it.’ He promised to “drain the swamp,” when in fact he has not only increased the swamp’s dimensions, he has created a cesspool of his own. He has bonded with Wall Street executives; present and past; and created a plutocracy. He has spent more time golfing and watching cable television than working in the Oval Office, although he said that he ‘would not have time to golf; working on deals for the American people.’ He promised to force corporations to return to American soil, but is suggesting tariffs to end free trade and harm our nation’s industries.

Every tirade he offered the misguided Americans who attended his rallies was a lie and a vile representation of my America.

The truth is that when he led the chant of “lock her up,” accusing Hillary of crimes, he was attempting to hide the truth that he, Vladimir Putin, and Robert Mercer had ‘fixed the election.’ This was Trump’s tactic and proof that he colluded to win the Electoral College.

The misguided Americans who believed that Trump would be the change our nation’s government needed were angry that congress had been failing to perform the duties for which they were elected. They constantly lied, and ignored the needs and wishes of the majority; a policy they have harbored for at least 25 years. Millions of his former supporters are now aware that Trump has not been the change they wanted. He is moving our nation backwards into its dark and dangerous past.

White supremacy, distrust, anger, hatred, and every other negative condition has infiltrated our nation and divided our people beyond repair.

Prior to America’s biggest mistake, congress’ approval rating hovered around 10 percent; that has not changed. One statistic which has changed is demonstrative of the fact that our government needs not just change, but a complete overhaul. Our elected officials no longer serve the people and vote for legislation which serves the needs and wishes of the majority; they vote based on their personal beliefs or because lobbyists have purchased their vote. The statistic which should alarm all Americans is that only 3% of all Americans have a “great deal” of confidence in those we elect. That means that 97% of Americans believe that many of our nation’s legislators are incompetent fools.

The first and foremost change in our government must be term limits. There are far too many old, white men in Washington. They are out of touch with most Americans and lack vision to move our nation forward into the 21st century.

Our government is not representative of our nation’s people, and never will be until our elected officials are younger, and contain many more women. The average age in America is 37.8 years of age. Women compose 50.9 percent of the population. Our government is not representative of these facts, and this is the primary reason it continues to fail.

We must demand term limits, but until that becomes a reality, we can repair Washington. With our votes we can elect more women and choose candidates who are under the age of 50. We know that 80 year old men have no place in our government. Having a position in our nation’s government for 30+ years is a crime, not a respected fact. New ideas and great energy is sorely needed if we are to join the rest of developed nations.

Consider all of these facts when you vote in November.
