Ted Cruz Tells Texans, “I want to be More Hated”

Ted Cruz was first elected as the junior senator from Texas in 2012; he is up for reelection in November. Early in 2013 Cruz received a label; he was known as the ‘most hated senator in Washington.’ Lindsey Graham once joked, “if Ted Cruz was murdered on the floor of the senate, no one would prosecute his killer .”

It is no secret that Cruz and majority leader Mitch McConnell are not friends. Cruz is going to infuriate the old man even more. He is leading other extremists in a fight to repeal Obamacare before the election in November. Yes, I hate Cruz too.

I continue to find it amazing that Republicans want to take away healthcare from millions of Americans, although we pay for theirs. They believe that they are privileged and we, the people, exist to serve them.

Cruz is one of eight Republican senators who are up for reelection in November. Although he leads in the polls in Texas today, he faces a formidable Democratic opponent in Beto O’Rourke. O’Rourke is raising a very large amount of money, and is campaigning in every part of the state.

“We have 254 days until Jan. 3, 2019. I believe we need to do everything humanly possible to deliver on the promises we made to voters and to score major substantive victories for the American people while we have majorities in both houses and a Republican president,” Cruz said last week.

I always have to ask, ‘is Cruz as stupid as he appears,’ or is he attempting to con the voters of Texas. In special elections across the land Democrats have either defeated Republicans or come very close to winning, even in the reddest of states. The number one issue has been healthcare in each of these elections according to exit polls.

With the exception of shutting down our government in 2013, being the leader of obstructionism in Washington, and proving that he is our nation’s leading hypocrite, Trump has accomplished nothing in six years. One term is enough for Cruz and many of our useless politicians.

I plead with the people of Texas; vote for yourself and not for a political party; Cruz will never do anything for you or your family. His loyalty is to the Koch brothers, not to you.
