Republicans are the Problem, but they Continue to Blame Everyone Else; Time to End the Hypocrisy

For more than 25 years the once Grand Old Party has been imploding. An influx of extremists gained control of the Republican Party’s direction, and over time it became ‘Republican in name only.’ Today’s group in Washington is without principles, morals, or ideas.

Facts which cannot be denied prove that Republicans cannot govern effectively. Beginning in January of 2009 until this day, GOP politicians have failed to propose or pass one piece of significant and positive legislation; that is nine years, three months, and 11 days of failure. They became the party of ‘no;’ refusing to deliberate or compromise with not only Democrats, but with moderates in their own party.

Regardless of the subject; of the issue or its importance; it is the Republican Party which has been the party of obstructionism. The saddest part of these facts is that they constantly blame Democrats or other liberal groups for their constant failures.

Their illegitimate president speaks for his incompetent party. Every negative event is blamed on a truly great president, Barrack Obama. Every positive experience, including a declining unemployment rate, and a record breaking stock market, is the result of actions taken between 2009 and 2017, but Trump falsely takes credit for them. This is the GOP today.

Trump blames the legitimate media for revelations that he is a traitor, and unfit to be the president. Trump does not have the ability to tell the truth, and when he is exposed, he lashes back at his detractors; not with direct confrontation, but by tweeting. He constantly blames Democrats for his own failings and those of his party, although Trump, McConnell, and Ryan have refused to involve Democrats in any legislation or rule changes in Trump’s administration.

Finally, let’s tell the whole truth. Let’s begin 37 years ago. History proves that the vast majority of the American people fare far better when Democrats control our nation’s government. Under Reagan, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, and now Trump, unemployment began to rise, and jobs were lost. When the first three left office, the deficit had greatly increased, and actions taken by Trump will allow this trend to continue.

Bill Clinton left the White House in 2001. Our nation’s unemployment rate was at a record low, and our nation’s economy experienced a surplus. President Obama inherited a near depression, a national debt in the trillions, and two unwinnable wars. When he left in 2017, our nation was in full recovery mode. Both the working class and the wealthy benefited from his tenure; the stock market was making record gains, and continue to do so today.

Republicans can lie, but the truth eventually comes into the light of day. Let’s see how informed voters are in November. Will Democrats regain the House, the Senate, or both? If they do not, Trump will continue with his destructive agenda.
