Marco Rubio Exposes Trump’s “Tax Scam”

MR

Millions of uninformed Americans believe Republican lies that Trump’s tax scam is a tax cut for the majority. They are unaware that the plan’s tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy are permanent, but the very minimal cuts for the middle class will expire in a year-and-a-half.

Republican Senator Marco Rubio exposed the truth about Paul Ryan’s claim that the tax cut for corporations would increase employment; pure trickle down economics which failed three previous Republican presidents, and our nation’s people.

In an interview with the ‘Economist,’ Rubio had this to say.

Big corporations, he said, weren’t using the tax cut to “reinvest in American workers. […] In fact they bought back shares, a few gave out bonuses; there’s no evidence whatsoever that the money’s been massively poured back into the American worker.”

It is extremely sad that after 15 months and 13 days in office, Trump and his Republican stooges have a single accomplishment which they can claim as their own, and it is harmful for the majority.

The illegitimate Trump presidency has proven to be the least productive and worst in American history. It has also exposed the fact that Republicans are unable to govern. Maybe they don’t want to actually ‘govern;’ every proposal submitted by Republican politicians benefits Trump and the other 559 billionaires and 10.8 million millionaires. The ‘party of special interests’ can no longer make any claim that they represent the working class, low-income Americans, or the poor.

Rubio is under fire from the extremists in his party. He committed the cardinal sin; he told the truth. GOP politicians cannot survive when the truth is told. Facts are the enemy.

Rubio attempted to back off of his remarks the very minute he realized that he exposed the truth. He quickly reversed himself and returned to Republican falsehoods. Rubio said that the “tax cut” “has been good for Americans. That is why I voted for it.” Then he attempts nuance. Overall, the bill (somehow) “helps workers,” just not its “massive tax cuts to multinational corporations.”

We know how much this failure has helped workers, Paul Ryan bragged about it the week after it passed. He pointed to a secretary who received $1.50 more on her weekly paycheck.

Republicans are proud of this fact because their billionaire owners are saving $50,000 per week. In addition, thanks to huge cuts in corporate taxes, the deficit will rise by at least $1.8 trillion over ten years. Where are the “conservatives?” Hypocrites one and all.

Remember all of this in November.
