In 2016, deaths from the use of prescription and illegal drugs rose to an all time high at 54,793. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention reports that they increased dramatically in 2017, the year Trump became your illegitimate president. One of Trump’s many un-kept promises was to ‘fix’ the opioid crisis.

There are individuals and agencies to blame for this sad reality. The drug companies lied about how addictive these pain medications would be. Doctors freely prescribed them for chronic pain without considering possible addiction. As opioids became scarce, and the price began to rise, those addicted to the drugs turned to heroin, which is more readily available and much less expensive.

The only action Trump has taken is to place his paid liar, Kellyanne Conway in charge of finding a solution. An intelligent man would have gathered experts on drug addiction, treatment for that addiction, and how and who to punish; insuring that the situation would not reoccur. But Trump decided that keeping his promise was to give it to Conway, who has accomplished nothing in her life.

By attempting to repeal Obamacare, his policies which would reduce Medicare for our neediest people, and his willingness to send patriotic and true Americans to war, prove that he has no interest in serving our nation’s majority. He is willing to allow nearly as many of our citizens to lose their lives each year thanks to drug addiction, as the total number lost in the Vietnam War. His solution might sound familiar; “just say no.”
