First and foremost, the NRA gun lobby is the enemy of 90 percent of the American people. Ten percent of all Americans own 90 percent of our nation’s guns. Only five percent of Americans belong to the NRA. Contrary to traitors in the Republican Party, the vast majority of Americans want tougher gun laws. They believe that the safety their families is more important than the profits of gun manufacturers and gun sellers.

The fact is that the United States of America is the only nation in the world which suffers from more than 33,000 deaths resulting from the use of a gun. America should be ashamed that in 2012 20 first grade children and six educators were slaughtered by a lone gunman armed with a military assault rifle. In October of 2017, a lone gunman, armed with a military assault rifle murdered 58 men and women attending a music festival in Las Vegas. The very next month, a lone gunman, armed with a military assault rifle walked into a church in a small Texas town and ended the lives of 26 men, women, and children. This year, on Valentines day, a lone gunman, armed with a military assault rifle, walked into a high school in Florida and killed 17 students and teachers. Where will the next mass shooting take place; and when.

The last three tragedies occurred during Trump’s administration, and he has taken no action. He continues to support the people’s enemy; the NRA. Why would he do this? The simple truth is that he was given $30 million dollars from the NRA during his 2016 campaign; he owes them.

It’s not just Trump; every Republican politician is indebted to the gun lobby. Surprisingly one Republican governor, Mary Fallin, has taken a small but important stand against the NRA.

Fallin is the Governor of Oklahoma; the same state in which the most corrupt politician in America, Scott Pruitt, was the Attorney General. Late Friday night Fallin vetoed a bill which would have allowed all adults in her state to carry loaded weapons without any training or obtaining a permit. You read that correctly; the morons in the state legislature wanted to allow the mentally ill, those convicted of domestic abuse, child molesters, and all criminals to have in their possession weapons of mass destruction. This is the NRA’s dream.

After she vetoed the bill, she issued the following:

“Oklahomans believe that law-abiding individuals should be able to defend themselves,” Fallin said in a statement. “I believe the firearms requirement we currently have in state law are few and reasonable.”

The NRA believes that our entire nation should be armed. There should be no age restrictions. The mentally ill, men and women on the no-fly list; criminals; literally anyone should be allowed to purchase guns without background checks or any other requirement. This is America, the most capitalistic nation in the world. Profit before people is our nation’s new pledge of allegiance.

Governor Fallin remains loyal to her party, which has no beliefs, no morals, and no principles. However, she is the first member of the GOP to take a stand against corruption in decades.

Is this a beginning? I sincerely hope so.
