Another Example of how Republicans Rule and Refuse to Serve

Republicans in name only

Trump’s administration acts as though they are members of a royal family, not elected public servants. They waste millions of dollars every month to maintain lives of luxury and privilege. They are the epitome of Republican’s attitudes which have existed for decades. They choose to rule over the American people; not to serve us. Although the polls reveal that on many of the most critical issues the American people are decidedly pro or con by percentages of 60 to 80 percent and more, Republicans continue to vote according to the demands of lobbyists for America’s largest corporations; not for the people they were elected to represent and serve.

There is no better example of this fact than Virginia Representative Tom Garrett. Although this Republican politician is only one of 435 member of the House, he and his wife consider themselves ‘royalty.’ His aides have many complaints about working for this lowly government official.

Among these complaints include grocery shopping to fetching the congressman’s clothes to caring for their pet dog, all during work hours. None of these tasks are government related, and fail to fit their job descriptions. These aides feared for their careers if they refused; both Garrett and his wife are known for their explosive tempers.

These types of demands were not made exclusively to full time staff, even unpaid interns were forced to serve their masters.

I didn’t know who I was working for: Was I working for him? Was I working for her?” said one of those staffers who, like others interviewed for this story, asked not to be named for fear of retribution. “We became their gofers.”

Reports from the White House offer many similarities between Garrett and his fuhrer. Trump’s weak temperament and fragile ego have become legendary.

Matt Missen is a spokesman for Garret, and responded with the usual for all Republicans; he lied.

We see no reason to respond to anonymous, unfounded allegations primarily targeting Congressman Garrett’s wife, made by POLITICO’s ‘unnamed’ sources,” he said. “It is easy to spread untruths and even easier to exaggerate and imply wrongdoing when none exists.”

Once again, ‘if a Republican’s lips are moving, they’re lying.’

Think carefully about this in November; this country belongs toy you. Your needs and desires must be addressed by those we elect.
