The Trump effect. Let’s do something right now; something the mainstream media refuses to discuss. With Donald J. Trump as our nation’s illegitimate president, the Constitution is nothing but a memory. The idea of three separate but equal branches of government no longer exists. Individual rights and freedoms are disappearing every day. In great danger are minorities, all Americans who practice any religion other than Christianity, the LGBTQ community, all women, and the 99 percent of real Americans who compose the working class.
Neil Gorsuch, Trump’s newest member of the Supreme Court, has quickly aligned himself with three other members who are right wing extremists and bigots.
Two perfect examples of how this Court is a danger to the Constitution occurred recently. The right wing dominated SCOTUS sided with big business and removed the rights of the working class to seek legal action for wrongs committed by their employers. Today a 7-2 decision protected the religious beliefs of a right wing religious extremist in Colorado. He had refused to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple.
The Constitution clearly prohibits a relationship between religion and our nation’s government. Contrary to right wing propaganda, our founding fathers did not found this nation on religious principles; they had run away from the domination of the Church of England. Republicans in name only have violated the the first amendment for decades; one of their owners is the Christian religious right. If they supported the rights of all Americans to practice the faith of their choice or none at all, same-sex marriage, abortion, and all rights protected by the Law of the Land we would have less division and many fewer ‘hot button issues.’
Trump and his treasonous party are making strides in the destruction of our democracy and the establishment of fascism in America. One party has been eliminated from decisions affecting all 320 million people. Trump is attempting to destroy the fourth estate and continue to increase their support of FOX Noise which is nothing more than a propaganda machine for Republicans. This is what GOP politicians have been planning since 1981. When the TEA Party infiltrated the Republican Party with the financial support of the Koch Brothers, they moved even farther to the right, and the support of specific groups who would destroy the Constitution while claiming to support it. The NRA, the Christian religious right, the petroleum industry and others control every vote of GOP politicians. They have created a plutocracy, but a plutocracy cannot long exist without the aid of a fascist government.
Most importantly, 60 percent of all Americans support same-sex marriage. That means that one party is rejecting the majority of the American people. At last count, more than 70 percent of all Americans support women’s rights including their right to make decisions about their personal health and mental welfare.
Finally, it is past time to remove all Republicans from office. After they win elections they no longer support the wishes and needs of their constituents; they rule over us and support the demands of their owners; the rich and fake-Christian groups.
