McConnell once again Plays Politics at the Expense of our Nation’s Future

McConnell (3)

Mitch McConnell has been a traitor to the American people for more than 30 years. His accomplishments for the American people and the people of Kentucky are nil. He cares about one thing; his failing party.

Before Trump colluded with Vladimir Putin and won the Electoral College in 2016, McConnell was one of his most vocal detractors. He was a member of the “anyone but Trump” wing of the Republican Party in name only. After the election, McConnell bowed to his fuhrer, engaging in the highest level of hypocrisy in American history. His party had control of all three branches of our government, and the ‘turtle’ was ecstatic.

Public opinion polls indicate that there is a real possibility that Democrats and Independents will regain control of the House and Senate in November’s election. McConnell is making a desperate effort to hold the Senate for his failed party. He has ended the August recess. Although the Senate Majority Leader has been at the forefront of the ‘party of no’ since January of 2009, he is lying in a desperate and futile attempt to blame Democrats for his failures.

“Due to the historic obstruction by Senate Democrats of the president’s nominees, and the goal of passing appropriations bills prior to the end of the fiscal year, the August recess has been canceled. Senators should expect to remain in session in August to pass legislation, including appropriations bills, and to make additional progress on the president’s nominees.”

This entire statement is a lie. Traitor McConnell is attempting to keep Democrats in Washington and prevent them from spending three months on the campaign trail.

McConnell is a sad old man who has been in Washington for far too long, but he knows that of the eight Republican senators who are up for reelection, several are vulnerable. At the top of that list is Dean Heller, a Trump lackey from my state of Nevada. McConnell is desperately hoping that some of the 25 Democratic senators facing reelection will lose to Republican candidates.

At present there are 51 Republican senators; 47 Democrats; and two Independents who generally vote with Democrats.

The House is especially vulnerable. Democrats need to gain only 24 seats out of 435. As of this day, 38 Republicans and 17 Democrats announced that they will not be seeking reelection.

If the polls are accurate, Democrats may easily regain control of the House. If they somehow manage to retake the Senate, Trump will become completely impotent. He will be able to spend the rest of his presidency on a golf course; he will be even more useless than he is today.

Please end the tyranny of Trump’s administration on November 6th.
