“After years of wage stagnation, we are finally seeing rising wages.”
The truth is that wages are rising at a much slower rate than under President Obama’s administration.
“Many car companies are now building and expanding plants in the United States — something we have not seen for decades.”
This statement is simply an exaggeration of the facts. Automobile companies had planned some expansions long before the 2016 election. The truth is that jobs in the industry have decreased in numbers.
“We have ended the war on American energy — and we have ended the war on beautiful, clean coal. We are now very proudly an exporter of energy to the world.”
Two things about coal: there has never been a ‘war on coal.’ Secondly, there is no such thing as ‘clean coal.’ The United States is an exporter of natural gas, but we continue to import crude. It is expected that within the next 10 years, after Trump is no longer in office, America will be exporting some crude.
“The third pillar (of his immigration plan) ends the visa lottery — a program that randomly hands out green cards without any regard for skill, merit or the safety of our people.”
A blatant lie meant to misinform the uninformed. To obtain these visas a list of requirements must be met, including a high school diploma or two years of work experience in the last five; they must receive a medical exam; they must not have a criminal record; and they must undergo a multi-month background check.
“We enacted the biggest tax cuts and reform in American history.”
This is Trump’s biggest lie, and his only ‘accomplishment,’ although it is negative. In fact, it is the fifth largest since the 1960s and 12th largest in American history, as a share of the economy. These ‘tax cuts’ are permanent for the wealthy and large corporations; they will end for the middle class next year. This bill will add at least $1.8 trillion to the deficit.
Here’s a final note; Trump supporters choose ignorance over the facts and blindly believe his lies; they are the greatest danger to America’s future.
