Abby Huntsman is a co-host of “FOX and Friends.” This is what she said on Sunday’s broadcast.
“Regardless of what happens in that meeting between the two dictators, what we are seeing right now ― this is history.”
She’s not wrong. By their own words and actions Trump and Kim Jong-un are men who have proven that they are autocrats and support fascism.
Let’s ask the crucial question. Because Trump failed so miserably with “friendlies” at the G7, what can we expect to happen in Singapore when he meets a ruthless dictator who hates America? The answer is ‘maybe success.’ They both share a belief in fascism and are pleased to rule over their subjects. They are both bullies. They both share a love for nuclear weapons, and prefer war to diplomacy.
Of course this meeting may be successful. It was reported that Dennis Rodman, the great negotiator, will be attending. What could go wrong. How could a discussion between a man who has murdered tens of thousands of his own people and several of his relatives, a former NBA player turned freak, and a mentally incompetent man without morals or compassion fail? It should be a ‘slam dunk!’ (Okay; sorry about the basketball reference.)
But the truth is that none of these men can speak intelligently, and none of them have the interests of the people of both countries as their primary concern.
I am much more concerned about Trump’s antics and failure at the G7. Trade between our nation and the European Union may become non-existent. At the same time high-ranking officials from China and Russia are meeting to arrange trade agreements. With his failed “tax reform” Trump has already guaranteed that the deficit will be increased by nearly two trillion dollars. How much worse can it get? Trump is still in the Oval Office; occasionally.
