The title of this article has become the truth. Our nation is moving into its dark past under Trump’s failed leadership. Yesterday I read a very sad story. A funeral for the father of two children had just ended. His two mixed-race children were waiting to get into the limousine for the ride home. An older couple stopped their vehicle next to the limo, rolled down their windows, and yelled at the children: “we got a nice hangin’ tree right over there.” This is the ‘Trump effect.’
Trump received the Republican nomination in July of 2016. Since that time hate crimes have increased by more than 800 percent. Verbal and physical attacks against minorities, Muslims, Jews, and women have reached an unheard of level in the United States. This is why our nation will never be ‘great.’
Make no mistake about this article; I am not attacking millennials, or the next generation of voters who are in high school. I am also not referring to most women. Prejudice is primarily owned by old, white, men and women in America. Donald Trump was elected by racists and bigots, not by real Americans. With the aid of Vladimir Putin, he won the Electoral College, but the popular vote offered proof that he is the least popular illegitimate president in America’s history.
Trump’s idea of ‘leading’ our nation is to take us backwards. He believes that white supremacy, misogyny, and xenophobia should be our nation’s focus. Under the influence of Mike Pence, Trump is attempting to undo the gains made by logical and compassionate Americans who support the Bill of Rights and the LGBTQ community.
Will you accept the ‘Trump effect’ as the ‘new America?’ I will not. I cherish the advancements made in the 20th century, and I have hope thet the 21st century will bring more positive changes.
End tyranny in America and remove Republicans from office in November.
