Mitch McConnell is twice as old as the average American. He is the longest serving member of the Senate. He has been an obstructionist for most of his pathetic career, and fails to have a single positive accomplishment in his 33 years in office. He is the ‘poster boy’ for term limits. McConnell is the reason why Republicans in name only refused to do anything for the eight years President Obama served the American people. In January of 2009, he promised that his party would do nothing as long as a black man was living in the White House. He continues to keep that promise although Mr. Obama has been out of office for 16 months and 28 days.
Yes, although he is too old to be in the Senate, he will run again in 2020. At 76 years of age he should be forced to retire. McConnell is bad for America; he has harmed our nation’s people for over three decades. In this case, ‘enough’ is too much.
McConnell is already planning his attacks on his opponent; this is the only tactic Republicans in name only use. They are unable run for reelection on the issues. Republicans oppose the majority of Americans on every important issue, including sensible gun reform, women’s rights, abortion, same-sex marriage, and the first amendment rights of minorities and Muslims.
McConnell will demean whoever his opponent may be with false allegations, name calling, and other personal attacks.
“Anyone who will run against him will be put through a blender,” said Scott Jennings, a longtime McConnell confidant, “the likes of which they’ve never experienced.”
Sadly, he will likely be victorious. Kentucky voters will vote for any candidate who has an “R” next to his or her name, even though they may be a stain on America and will fail to serve the people of Kentucky.
We can change one important situation. We can vote Republicans out of office on November 6th and “the turtle” will no longer be the Senate Majority Leader. He will be just another failed Republican politician.
