Why is our government completely dysfunctional? That’s an easy question to answer. We now have a one-party system, and that one party is failing the American people. It is not my Republican Party; it is ‘Republican in name only.’ These imposters have a single goal; win elections and continue to live lives of luxury and privilege at taxpayer expense.

Let’s be perfectly clear here. The people elect Representatives and Senators to serve them. This is a ‘democratic republic.’ When our elected officials refuse to perform the jobs for which they were elected, they must be removed from office. For 30 years and more we have witnessed the many sins committed by those in Washington, and the lack of term limits contributes to this enormous failure.

There must be a few right wing politicians in the ‘Party of Trump’ who are intelligent. This limited number of men and women are fully aware that Trump is a danger to democracy and is a complete and utter failure. They know that he is causing irreversible damage to our nation’s future and harming the majority of the American people. His lies cannot be counted; he is unable to tell the truth. Just recently Trump lied as he whined that he inherited enormous problems. He claimed that our economy was in a down turn, when in fact President Obama placed our nation in ‘full recovery mode.’ He claimed that we had an ‘Iran problem,’ when the fact is that Mr. Obama and John Kerry had negotiated an excelled deal which would halt the nation’s nuclear program. The agreement was praised by one of Ronald Reagan’s top Russian negotiators. Trump falsely claimed that we had an ‘immigration problem;’ this was far from the truth. Illegal immigration was at an all time low.

So why aren’t these few real Republicans standing up to the orange man? The simple answer is that they ‘lack courage.’ They are indeed cowards.

These hypocrites are more afraid of losing an election than what Trump will do to our nation’s future. They refuse to do the right thing and support those who elected them.

I’m never surprised when Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, John Cornyn, Ted Cruz, Steve King, and others, who have kissed Trump’s a** for more than 17 months, display the fact that they are self-absorbed to the extent of becoming traitors to the American people. However, I had hopes for Lisa Murkowski, and Susan Collins; possibly a few more; but they too have decided to bow to their fuhrer.

In 1957 John Kennedy wrote “Profiles in Courage.” Its pages were filled with essays from our nation’s Senators who professed their patriotism and love for the United States of America, and how their focus while in office was to make our nation great.

When a book is written about this congress during the Trump administration, it will be called “Profiles in Cowardice.” As I watch and read about the daily tragedies in Washington, I begin to understand why millions of people around the world support anarchy. When governments become this bad, nations are better without one. There is an old adage that ‘all governments are bad; some are just worse than others.’ 

America, with Donald Trump as our illegitimate president, and his cowardly party in control of congress, is the worst in the world.

You can change it. You can vote all, and I mean ALL Republicans out of office. It’s time to take your, YOUR country back. Vote.
