North Korea Remains a Danger to the United States; Is Anyone Shocked that Trump Lied?

Kim Jong-un

Beginning under the Bush 43 administration a division between our nation grew from a crack to a chasm. Under Trump’s failed administration our nation’s people are more divided than at any other time since the Civil War. If you are a Trump supporter, you accept everything he says without proof; without any presentation of facts. If you are a Trump hater, you demand the truth and know that every word out of Trump’s mouth is a lie.

This is just a small example of the division between our nation’s people.

The best example of this comes from the recent meeting between Trump and the despotic Supreme Leader of North Korea. Returning, Trump offered no proof that he received a single concession from Kim Jong-un, while your illegitimate president ended our ‘war games’ with South Korea, and promised to remove some sanctions. Both South Korea and Japan view this as a failure and a danger to their future.

This was Trump’s tweet upon his return.

Just landed – a long trip, but everybody can now feel much safer than the day I took office. There is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea. Meeting with Kim Jong-Un was an interesting and very positive experience. North Korea has great potential for the future!”

Nothing was signed proving that this statement was indeed fact. However, Trump supporters believe that he should receive the Nobel Peace Prize for accomplhishing nothing.

On Friday, without his usual fanfare and braggadocio, Trump renewed a 10-year old Executive Order. “The existence and risk of proliferation of weapons-usable fissile material on the Korean Peninsula and the actions and policies of the government of North Korea continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy and economy of the United States.”

Which is it. Has North Korea ended its nuclear program, or has nothing changed?

What upset me the most was Trump’s effusive praise of one of the most prolific murderers of his own people in modern history. But, I shouldn’t be surprised; Trump worships Vladimir Putin, and he orders his enemies to be killed on a regular basis. As the song goes “these are a few of my favorite dictators.”

Finally, the truth is that nothing was accomplished in Singapore with the exception of making the area of the world where two of our strongest allies reside a more dangerous place.
