Two Supreme Court decisions this week offered conclusive evidence that SCOTUS is not apolitical, as designated by our founding fathers, it is a tool of Donald Trump and his fascist party.
First, by a 5-4 vote the Court upheld Trump’s Muslim ban. The five justices who were the majority covered up their bigotry and justified Trump’s racist executive order because the word ‘Muslim’ had not been used in the documentation. However, his rhetoric has revealed the truth hundreds of times.
Next, by another 5-4 vote, the same justices virtually ended unions in America. They are forcing our working class to live in a ‘right to work’ country. What does this mean? Businesses which have unions are now able to hire employees who are not required to join the union. This is why here in Nevada our wages are low and poverty is growing. This could be an enormous blow to the great majority of the working class.
The first decision is proof that America is on its way out. Democracy is nearing extinction.
The second unconstitutional decision can be remedied.
When I was in my 20’s I was employed by an airline at LAX. We had a union, but none of us wanted to go on strike when the company refused to negotiate in good faith. An unknown person found a copy of the ‘rules;’ rules which were created by lawyers, not those who worked at the airport.
Reading through these rules, we all realized that we broke most of them every day. If we obeyed them to the letter, our flights would be delayed by minutes early in the day, but by the evening they could be more than one-hour late.
The company labeled our ‘work by rules’ program a ‘slow down.’ That may have been accurate, but we didn’t write the rules.
It doesn’t matter what the type of business might be, following rules to the full extent will decrease productivity. The best part is that they can do nothing about the situation without doing the work themselves, and that would never happen.
If you’ve ever been involved in a ‘strike’ situation you are fully aware that no one wins. Our ‘work by rules’ program solved our differences within two weeks. The best part was that management knew that our efforts could begin again at a moment’s notice if they reneged on their agreements.
