A large number of sociologists and psychologists claim that the citizens of the United States are the least informed in the developed world. I have always believed this to be fact. When I listen to individuals interviewed by real journalists I realize that the vast majority of our nation’s people vote based on what they hear on fake television “news,” or from the candidates themselves without researching their actual positions on issues most important to them.

On November 8, 2016 my assumptions were confirmed. Uninformed Americans elected a con man. Those of us who have followed Trump’s questionable and controversial history were aware that he was the worst possible choice in American history. Believing a pathological liar, and Trump’s propaganda machine, FOX noise, is pure ignorance.

Today I ended a verbal battle with my brothers-in-law. Two of them live in Georgia, so I forgive them. The other lives in our state’s capital, Carson City. All of them have preconceived ideas about progressives based on misinformation. I have given up hope. I know who and what Donald Trump is, and he is Hitler reincarnated.

One of my brothers-in-law said that ‘everyone someone doesn’t like is compared to Hitler.’ That may be true to some extent. However, earlier today I offered my readers some quotes from Hitler and Trump; they mirrored each other in a frightening manner. Trump’s hatred of minorities, primarily Hispanics, compares to Hitler’s obsession with the Jews. His one-party rule; attacks on our Constitution; and practice of lying frequently about the same subject until the ignorant accept his alternative facts all prove that Hitler is his hero. His association and adulation of Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong-un, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, while denouncing our closest allies, is not only unacceptable, it is frightening. Trump has ambitions to become a dictator; democracy does not work for him.

So, here’s my problem with about one-half, or maybe more, or our nation’s people. It’s useless to talk to you if you have preconceived ideas based upon the lies and misdirection of another man; if you have not listened to two sides of an argument and made a decision based on fact not fiction; it’s a waste of my time. If I sound egotistical, I’m not. I am informed. This is the same reason why I reject major religions. I don’t need, want, or trust another man to tell me how to live my life or what to believe. I read, I learn, and I love my country. I know and write the truth. Facts scare the hell out of those on the right wing.
