Trump’s 17 months and 10 days in office have been defined by his crimes against humanity. He began by attempting a racist act. To keep a campaign promise, he attempted to ban Muslims from coming to our nation. That was just the beginning.
His next attempt was to try and remove healthcare from more than 20 million Americans, many of whom were minorities in minimum wage jobs. He was just warming up.
Trump signed executive orders which reduced aid to low-income Americans, millions of whom are minorities.
During Trump’s administration mass murder by white terrorists became normal and acceptable. In October, 2017, a lone gunman armed with a military assault rifle slaughtered 58 innocent men and women in Las Vegas. In November 2017, in a small town and a small church in Texas, a lone gunman armed with a military assault rifle murdered 26 men, women, and children. On Valentine’s Day this year, 17 students and faculty were murdered by a lone gunman, armed with a military assault rifle in a Florida high school. Two days ago, five reporters were killed and three critically injured in a newspaper office in Baltimore. Trump has done nothing to protect innocent Americans. The NRA gun lobby is more important than people. This is as criminal as it gets.
Trump, Steven Miller, and Jeff Sessions devised a plan to arrest every migrant crossing our border illegally even if they were seeking asylum. But that was just the beginning. He separated thousands of children from their parents and dispersed many of them throughout the United States virtually guaranteeing that any effort to reunite the families would be impossible.
This final act encouraged more marches in opposition to Trump’s refusal to serve and protect all Americans, and to simply ‘do the right thing.’ Today at least 750 marches took place in multiple cities across our nation. Our nation is angry at their illegitimate president for his lack of humanity and compassion. His election was a hate crime committed by millions of ignorant and uncaring Americans.
Although cowardly and hypocritical Republicans are ignoring Trump’s crimes against humanity, the people will remember these violations of human rights on November 6th.
