No president in history has dominated the news like Trump. Sadly, it’s not because of his accomplishments, it’s because of his ignorance, lies, and acts which violate the Constitution. Although the mainstream media refuses to offer the full truth, Trump’s support of white supremacy, xenophobia, sexism, homophobia, and Islamophobia make most Americans angry and are ashamed to admit that a man without morals is defiling our White House.
On this day the focus of the news is twofold. Approximately 750 cities in America will experience marches denouncing Trump’s policy of separating children and parents on our southern border; following the example of Nazi Germany in the 1930’s and 1940’s.
The second most penned article in the press concerns the retirement of Justice Anthony Kennedy, and how SCOTUS will become more politicized. Dangers to freedoms fought for during the last 60 years could be reversed.
There is no secret that I despise Trump and his entire administration. For 17 months and 10 days patriotic Americans have been fighting to prevent Trump from harming the majority of our people and our nation. This is not the purpose of a president. He or she is elected to unite our nation under causes which affect the majority. Trump is a ‘special interests’ president; he places himself at the forefront of policy.
The reality is that when we become sidetracked from the only weapon we have to defeat the tyrant in the West Wing we lose our focus. On November 6th our vote can devastate our right-wing enemies. No longer do Republicans represent and serve the majority; they bow to every un-American act by their fuhrer. If every Republican is voted out of office, our country once again belongs to the people. Whether you like Democrats or not, they will defeat Trump’s vile agenda.
Younger Democrats are moving back to the left with ideas and principles which once dominated politics and served the working class. Progressives get things done; regressives, Republicans, move us backwards into our nation’s dark past.
