I must begin with a definition of Trump’s claim of ‘America First.’ It has nothing to do with American business, or pride in our country, it is an effort to create a nationalist regime which was at the center of Hitler’s Nazi domination of Germany and the Eastern Bloc in the 1940’s. Trump has a dream, and that dream is to destroy democracy and establish a plutocracy supported by a fascist government.
Trump has re-instituted tariffs on imported goods from the European Union, Canada, Mexico and China. This moronic decision has already forced several major American manufacturers to either take direct action to avoid financial loss or have indicated that they will in the near future. In addition, he has alienated our closest allies and cozied up to the world’s most cruel and revolting dictators. These actions have placed our nation and our nation’s businesses in great danger.
For the last 17 months and 10 days when Trump has exposed himself or been exposed as a liar and a grifter, one of his paid liars has stepped in to save his cojones. This time it is his Deputy Assistant Secretary for Refugees and Migration, Andrew Veprek.
He has defended Trump’s fascist orders and beliefs by stating that ‘change is happening in America.’
Veprek argued that it’s not the responsibility of national leaders to speak out against hate speech. And he defended the term xenophobia as being “malleable.” Presumably meaning that what used to be considered irrational hatred and fear of foreigners … is the new normal.
Today millions of Americans marched in cities across our nation to reject this fascist idealism. White supremacy is not welcome in America. Republicans in name only will learn on November 6th that most of our nation’s people believe in the America of our founding fathers, not Trump’s plan to recreate our nation into a nation similar to that of his master, Vladimir Putin.
In the last year-and-a-half I have been encouraged by three of the largest protests in my lifetime. When I watched and joined in the protests against the useless loss of life in Vietnam, I believed that I would never experience anything similar in my lifetime. I am pleased that I was mistaken.
The Women’s March on January 21, 2017 was the most exciting and American event I had ever seen in my lifetime. In March of this year, the ‘March for our Lives,’ organized by high school students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, brought tears to my eyes as at least one-million patriots marched on Washington to demand new gun laws to protect innocent Americans. Today real Americans once again marched to protest the tyranny and immoral actions of Trump and his gestapo army to steal children from migrant parents.
Hope is alive, and I am proud to be an American once again.
Please tell others about my blog; the blog of truth and patriotism. Thank you.
