Before Trump met with North Korean dictator, Kim Jong-un, he chose not to consult his Secretary of Defense, James Mattis, his Chief of Staff, John Kelly, or any diplomat on staff who has knowledge of the small nation which could prepare him for the summit.
The day after talks ended, Trump claimed a success, even stating that ‘our people could stop worrying; North Korea would be ending it nuclear program.’ Analysts and experts on North Korea now in the private sector called Trump a liar. No binding agreements were signed. For Trump it was merely a show in a desperate attempt to raise his approval rating before the upcoming midterm elections.
For Kim Jong-un, he received everything he wanted. Trump gave the brutal autocrat full recognition as the legitimate leader of his nation. His effusive praise was an embarrassment. The president of the United States ignored the fact that thousands of North Koreans have been murdered by Kim Jong-un’s thugs, and thousands more are in several brutal prison camps. He chose to forget about the fact that he has murdered members of his own family to maintain absolute power. The vast majority of North Koreans live in poverty and go to bed hungry. And yet Trump praised him as a “good man” who was a “talented negotiator.” I am positive that Trump slept through the meetings or was busy eating cheeseburgers.
The Washington Post is reporting statements by U.S. Intelligence agencies that not only is Kim Jong-un not dismantling his nuclear weapons, he is creating ways to hide them from spy planes and surveillance satellites. Another Trump failure.
A final note to Trump’s ignorant supporters: “Are you tired of winning yet?”
