I am aware that Republicans are unable to govern, but are they stupid? The lack of talent in Washington is appalling, and on the Republican side, they simply don’t care. They are only concerned with elections.

Sunday night House Republicans were considering the passage of the ‘United States Fair and Reciprocal Tariff Act.’ This would allow Trump to “declare America’s abandonment of fundamental World Trade Organization rules” without any input from Congress or the American people.

Before I get into any of the details of what an incredibly ignorant move this would be, let’s be clear about the primary danger involved. Trump is mentally incompetent and when his ego becomes slightly bruised he has proven time and time again that he is prone to rash and dangerous decisions. Any man or woman with such a low-level intellect cannot take control of an entire nation’s economy without oversight.

Now, let’s look at the facts. This suggestion of such a dangerous policy is the result of ‘Trump’s Folly,’ otherwise known as ‘tariffs.’ Repercussions have begun. The European Union, China, and Canada have already announced they will place tariffs on billions of dollars of imports from the United States. An enormous trade war has begun thanks to the failures of one man who is unfit to lead our nation. Here are some concerns expressed about giving Trump such power; power he should not be allowed to hold in his incapable hands.

This policy is destructive to future efforts to engage in foreign trade. When Trump took office, our nation was still in recovery, and this could stall those efforts.

The word from the White House is that almost everyone agrees this is a very bad idea.

This is another Trump idea; another failed and rash decision. No one with any fiscal expertise suggested such an idiotic idea to a man who filed for bankruptcy five times and was nearly broke before he traveled to Moscow in 2005.

Not a single well-informed Washington insider believes that this will pass congress. Trump cannot become Vladimir Putin’s alter ego in the west.

A humorous note; the Fair and Reciprocal Tariff Act has already received an acronym; FART.

Trump is very eager to become an autocrat. Now, I dare anyone in America to tell me that Trump is not fighting to establish fascism in America.

Trump was complicit with Putin, and is planning efforts to destroy democracy, free speech, and free elections in America. Impeachment has become necessary; it is no longer a choice.
