Once again; Schumer and Pelosi are the past. Why have they not demanded that Scott Pruitt, the man who would eliminate the Environmental Protection Agency, be removed from office? They are saying nothing while a man who is nearly as corrupt as Donald Trump continues to use taxpayer money to live a life of luxury? All 44 presidents prior to Trump’s illegitimate administration would have fired Trump a year ago under extreme pressure from both parties.

More importantly, Pruitt is giving away our air, land, and water to lobbyists. When Trump nominated him, he was aware that Pruitt owed his political career to the oil and gas industry. His corrupt tenure as the attorney general of Oklahoma was highlighted by his lawsuits against the very agency he now leads. The fact that Republican senators confirmed him is proof that all GOP politicians are owned by special interests.

As the head of the EPA Pruitt makes efforts to match the spending of Donald Trump. Although he has wasted tens-of-millions of dollars, he cannot match Trump’s 16 million dollars a month.

We need Democrats who are more diverse, younger, and female. If they are to lead again they must move back towards the left and the principles which made them the ‘party of the people.’ Passivity will not defeat our unscrupulous enemy; the Republican Party.
