Senate Majority Leader and the greatest traitor to the American people, Mitch McConnell, had this to say when he was asked about what he would do about the increasing number of school shootings.

“I don’t think at the federal level there’s much that we can do other than appropriate funds,” McConnell said while speaking to community leaders in Danville, Kentucky, the Lexington Herald-Leader reports.

Lies are unforgivable, and a huge lie must be punished with banishment. McConnell has failed the people of Kentucky and the people of our nation for more than 33 years; time for him to retire in his ‘old Kentucky home.’ He is too old to adequately represent the majority of Americans.

The truth is that congress is the only group which can do something about gun violence in America. However, because the NRA has bought and paid for McConnell and other Republicans for decades, they will do nothing.

Just two changes would result in fewer fatal attacks. Much more comprehensive background checks which would reinstate regulations forbidding mentally challenged Americans from possessing weapons of mass destruction. Individuals on the ‘no-fly list’ must also be forbidden from acquiring guns. Secondly, banning military assault rifles and high-output magazines would prevent white terrorists from firing hundreds of rounds a minute. Congress could make these changes tomorrow. However, Republicans are not concerned about 90 percent of Americans; the 10 percent who own killing machines are their priority.

A final note to Mitch McConnell; your lies aren’t working any longer. We know who you are and what you are not. You are a liar and a hypocrite and you are not a public servant; you serve your party not the people.
