Today the District of Columbia and 15 states are raising their minimum wage. Polls show that by a large majority most Americans are in favor of raising the federal minimum wage.

More than six out of 10 Americans support changes in our gun laws; primarily more comprehensive background checks and banning military assault rifles, high output magazines and bump stocks.

Same-sex marriage is not only supported by most Americans, it has become the norm unless you are a religious extremist and a bigot.

For the first time the rights of women dominate the abortion issue; an issue which should be private and not political.

Around the world Christianity is in decline while the religion of Islam is growing. Here in America a dislike of Evangelicals, which is the extremist sect of the Christian religion, has resulted in stagnation of the once dominant faith in America. Republican politicians continue to support the Christian religious right lobby in violation of the first amendment.

Every one of the above issues, and many more including the complicated and crucial issue of immigration are supported by Independents and Democrats and opposed by Republicans. So why does a working class American vote for any Republican?

The answer won’t surprise you. First, the base of the right wing is composed primarily of senior citizens, and less-educated Americans. Secondly, beginning with their illegitimate president, Republican voters are willing to accept lies from GOP politicians; most of which are attacks on the party which actually supports the majority. Finally, the right wing has a huge propaganda machine called “FOX Noise.” Since it first broadcast in 1996 this fake news network has not told a single truth. Every day a man or woman watches FOX they are losing IQ points.

If every voter in America vetted each candidate before going to the polls and cast their ballots based on the issues, Republicans would never win a single election. Sadly, millions of Americans choose to vote for a party, not the candidate. Although GOP politicians oppose every issue I reported above, because they have an “R” next to their name, they receive votes of Americans who choose to remain ignorant.

It has been said in other developed nations that American voters are the least informed in the world. I couldn’t agree more.

It is mandatory that a record turnout occurs on November 6^th. All Republicans must be voted out of office if we are to remove all power from the despot in the White House.
