Republicans have moved so far to the right, they are always wrong. The lies coming from GOP politicians, their propaganda machine, FOX Noise, and the Christian religious right are too numerous to list, nevertheless discuss. So, let’s take a look at some of the most egregious and harmful to the very core of what once made America a respected nation.

Let’s begin with racism. Racism has been a blight on our nation’s culture since 1776. The thousands of stories about the physical and mental abuse suffered by blacks, Irish, Chinese, native Americans and others are heartbreaking and a very dark black mark on our nation.

Today, with a white supremacist in the White House minorities are suffering in ways not seen since the 1960’s. Hate crimes have risen by 800 percent. Republicans have undoubtedly threatened television news with a loss in advertising; demanding that this fact not be reported. Regardless, the truth cannot be hidden. If you are black, Hispanic, Muslim, Hindu, Jewish, a member of the LGBTQ community, or simply a woman, you feel unwelcome in Trump’s version of America. If you are low-income, barely surviving above the poverty line, or a family living below that line, you do not exist in Trump’s America. The truth is that the right wing of our nation’s politics serves their masters and not most Americans.

Mike Pence is the leader of a growing anti-gay movement in America. He, and others like him would deny that they are opposed to the LGBTQ community; they claim that the lifestyle of homosexuals and transsexuals is in opposition to their religious beliefs. I call bullshit.

I was raised Catholic and at one time considered the priesthood as a vocation; until I discovered girls. Nowhere in the Bible and at no time during my religion classes was there a mention of homosexuality being a sin or “against the law of God.”

What Jesus Christ said was “only God the Father has the right to judge men.” Jesus also commanded his followers to “treat one another as I have treated you.” Jesus spoke of love, compassion, and understanding, not judgement and hatred.

Mike Pence is one of millions of fake-Christians who use small sections of the Bible to justify their personal prejudices. The issue of same-sex marriage would not exist if the unconstitutional Christian religious right did not have control over GOP politicians. It’s all about votes, not about people and doing what is right.

I could go on and on discussing Muslims, Native Americans, poverty, education, healthcare, and many, many more subjects, but you would grow tiresome from reading about thousands of lies which have been told over and over again. So, let me end with another of the longest suffering groups and the largest single group in America; women.

Old, white men in our government have considered all women to be second and even third-class citizens for generations. Not much has changed in the 229 years since the Constitution was signed. Trump and other useless old men continue to believe that women serve a single purpose; to serve the needs of men.

Each time a law comes to the floor in the House or the Senate involving equal rights for women, Republicans vote against the bill; they believe that women do not deserve equality.

With the upcoming nomination of another Supreme Court Justice by a man who is unqualified and unfit to make that choice, a woman’s right to make decisions about her personal health will be threatened once again.

This issue, along with same-sex marriage should not be a political issue. They are both personal decisions and a Christian lobby, which violates the first amendment, must not be allowed to control the personal lives of any man, woman, or child in our nation.

Women are facing many challenges. The #MeToo movement is important, but with one of the primary targets of that movement signing Executive Orders which challenge women’s rights in the Oval Office, new challenges face all women in America every day.

The primary principle of our founding fathers was to protect “individual freedom.” Before the “Trump Party” ousted Republicans in Washington, the GOP was the party of freedom and less government. Today Republicans seek the control of every action taken by every American. They may call themselves “Republicans,” but they are actually “Republicans in name only.”

Finally, because Republicans are now our enemy, we must remove them from Washington. November 6^th is an opportunity to take our country back. Please vote wisely.
