The best way to understand how Trump’s Folly, his tariffs on goods imported from Canada, Mexico, the European Union, and China, are affecting Americans today is to look at one area, New Madrid County, Missouri.

This community is affected by tariffs on imported steel and aluminum, and exports of crops produced on its many farms which will experience tariffs from foreign nations.

First, when they gather in restaurants and other public areas, they don’t talk about the issue.

The good news is that an aluminum plant which was nearly closed has been revitalized. The bad news is that farmers are simply hoping for the best. Although wages are higher in the aluminum plant, more people are employed by the farms.

I would be unfair if I didn’t remind my readers of the fact that certain types of aluminum and steel are not manufactured anywhere in the United States. How tariffs on these imports affect our economy in the future will require a “wait and see” attitude.

My point is that Trump is hasty with all his decisions and therefore destined for failure. Trumpcare was literally thrown together in three weeks; Obamacare required about one year. His tax plan took about the same amount of time, and it’s a disaster. Trump’s “zero tolerance” program was initiated just days after he, Sessions, and Miller discussed it and ICE is unable to reunite 3,000 children with their parents.

These tariffs will harm an economy which remains in recovery. It will greatly harm millions of Trump voters; it will all come back to them pointing fingers at themselves for destroying their own lives. Choosing a man with no morals, and no successes in his disgusting life will destroy our nation If congress continues to reject the needs of the people who elected them.

According to economists; these are men and women who know something about international finance; no one wins a trade war. The outcome simply decides who lost the most.
