Ted Cruz, the junior senator from Texas and a failed candidate for the 2016 Republican nomination, has attempted to destroy our nation for the last six years. He has accomplished nothing with the exception of a government shutdown in 2013. He is a failure, a hypocrite, and a fake-Christian. He is one of only eight Republican senators who is facing reelection in November.

Texas is one of the reddest states in our nation. Each year it competes with Alabama and Indiana as the most racist state in the union. It appears impossible that Cruz, as horrific a politician as he might be, could lose he reelection campaign. Enter Beto O’Rourke.

O’Rourke is a 45-year-old, six-foot-four-inch dynamo whose popularity in Texas is a phenomenal reality.

He jogs daily in the hot Texas sun, and when asks what he can do to defeat one of the five worst senators in our nation, he responds with unusual dedication and energy.

“Some sadistic member of our team,” he recalls, “was like, ‘So we’re doing like six town halls a day in six different counties. We’re driving hundreds of miles every day, we’re visiting all 254 counties. What more could we do? Ah, get up earlier and have running town halls.’”

He is determined to take his message to every large and small venue in his state. He is likely the hardest working candidate in modern history.

What is being called “Beto-Mania” is spreading across the very red state. The very possibility that a Democrat could defeat any Republican is hopeful and reveals the fact that all Americans are disgusted with right wing lies and hypocrisy.

We must remember that Cruz, his wife, and his father were viciously attacked by Trump throughout the 2016 campaign. When Trump was given the nomination by a cowardly Republican Party, Cruz capitulated and offered his servitude to Donald Trump. He became a supporter of every Trump proposal which would harm America.

I have little hope or belief that Cruz could lose his reelection bid; after all this is about Texas. But I can dream. Cruz’ reputation as the most hated man in the Senate is supported by writers such as myself who share the feelings of his constituents.

Cruz is a fraud. He is not an American. He hates our government and serves only billionaires such as the Koch brothers. He is a traitor to his country, his state, and his family. He is a fake-Christian; an opportunist who will do anything to advance his personal ambition.

A win for Beto would be an enormous victory for America.
