I am willing to bet that as many as 70 percent of all Americans either don’t know who Brett Kavanaugh is or just don’t care about his nomination to the Supreme Court. The American people are not only the least informed in the developed world, they all too often display a high level of apathy.
They should care about Kavanaugh’s nomination. He will vote with four other Republicans on the Court affecting the future of your great grandchildren.
Kavanaugh’s personal believes are extreme and will harm future elections, justice, your wages, and women’s rights while supporting the Christian religious right; an unconstitutional lobby.
Let’s begin with the obvious. Kavanaugh is a devout Catholic. He is anti-abortion and anti-same-sex marriage. From the beginning it is clear that he does not support the Constitution; the only purpose of the Supreme Court. It gets worse.
Kavanaugh believes that foreign nations should be allowed to contribute to candidate’s election campaigns. This would allow Vladimir Putin to end his secretive collusion with Trump in 2020 and openly donate to his reelection efforts; virtually purchasing the presidency.
Kavanaugh also believes that a sitting president should have the same privileges as do dictators and despots. Trump should not be investigated or prosecuted while in office. He believes that a president is “above the law.”
Kavanaugh is not only anti-union, he is against all workers rights, believing that all power should be given to the owners of America’s businesses and the boards of directors of corporations.
Finally, he is against any legislation which guarantees full equality for women. That good old Catholic upbringing. (I was one until I grew up and stopped believing in fairy tales).
A note to my liberal friends; become involved, get active, and vote. We must fight to save our beloved country. If right wing extremists continue to control America, we might as well burn the Constitution.
And a message of support for 65 million other Americans who reject organized religion and the participation of religion in our government. We can be proud to believe in complete and unfettered freedom. Sadly, we remain in the minority.
When our founding fathers created the Supreme Court, it was intended to be apolitical. Today it is all about politics.
Please tell others about my blog; the truth lives here.
