On Thursday Trump was in Iowa. This is what he told his supporters; a blatant lie, but they choose to remain ignorant.

“We’re opening things up,” Trump said in Dubuque (video above). “But the biggest one of all happened yesterday … the EU …. We just opened up Europe for you farmers. You’re not going to be too angry with Trump, I can tell you. You were essentially restricted. You had barriers that really made it impossible for farm products to go in … you have just gotten yourself one big market that really essentially never existed.”

A spokesperson for the European Union offered the facts. Once again Trump was lying to make himself appear competent.

“On agriculture, I think we’ve been very clear on that — that agriculture is out of the scope of these discussions,” European Commission spokeswoman Mina Andreeva told reporters in Brussels on Friday, The Wall Street Journal reported. Other than what is “explicitly mentioned” in the agreement, “we are not negotiating about agricultural products,” she said.

Trump lies so frequently he has lost the ability to tell the truth. He began his campaign in June of 2015 and told his first lie; he hasn’t stopped yet.

Sadly, his supporters choose ignorance over the truth. He is harming those loyal to him more than others.

Bottom line; tariffs are harmful. The world has changed, and all nations are dependent on one another. Free trade and trade agreements are beneficial to all nations. Tariffs are an attempt by Trump to bully other countries into agreements which are not beneficial to them.

Trump refused to listen to his qualified advisers and working Americans will pay for it.
