Four Republicans in Three States who must be Sent Home in November

Stacey Abrams

On November 6th, elections in three states are critical for the future of the people. Texas and Nevada deserve representatives in Washington who will serve them. In Georgia and Nevada, the state’s citizens desperately need  governors who will ensure that they have adequate healthcare, and an economy which serves everyone, not just a few.

Ted Cruz is the ultimate failure. In six years, he has accomplished nothing for the people of Texas with the exception of shutting down the government in 2013 to serve his campaign donors; the Koch brothers.

Cruz also failed as a presidential candidate and after Trump sent him home with his tail between his legs, he began kissing the orange man’s humongous derriere.

Cruz is one of only eight Republican senators running for reelection. His challenger is Beto O’Rourke, a young Democrat who has reached out to voters from both parties. Currently the polls reveal Cruz leading by just under five points. However, the polls have fluctuated and Republicans are displaying desperation to save the seat of “the most hated Senator in Washington.” He must be defeated in November for the future of the people of the state of Texas.

In my state of Nevada there are two Republicans who do not deserve the votes of our state’s good citizens.

Dean Heller is another Republican Senator up for reelection. He has been a tool of Trump and has received large donations from the insurance and pharmaceutical industries. He promised our Republican Governor, Brian Sandoval, that he would vote in favor of Obamacare and against Trumpcare. He lied. He has failed the people of my state. Heller’s television ads are filled with lies about his Democratic opponent, Jacky Rosen.

Sandoval has served the maximum allowable number of years. Adam Laxalt is currently our state’s attorney general and is running for Nevada’s governor. Steve Sisolak is the head of the Clark County Commissioner’s Office and is the Democratic candidate.

As Attorney General, Laxalt supported his billionaire supporters and refused to implement laws passed by the state’s voters. His ads are also filled with lies and falsified innuendos. He must not replace our great governor, it would be a disaster for our state’s promising future.

The race for governor in Georgia is interesting, not because of the qualifications of the candidates, but because the primary issue is both race and gender.

Georgia is one of the reddest states in the union. Brian Kemp is the Republican candidate. He is a “good old boy,” and a redneck. His opponent is Stacey Abrams, a black woman. Ms. Abrams has offered a plan to help Georgia’s poorest residents receive healthcare, and to advance the state’s economy.

There are two scenarios here. If the rural black vote is suppressed or fails to go to the polls, Kemp will win. This race could be decided purely by racial prejudice, or by the people who need a governor who will represent all of Georgia’s citizens.

Kemp must be defeated and Ms. Abrams should become the first black, female governor in America’s history. She will make Georgia a more livable state for all of its residents.

It’s time for change; America cannot survive with a Republican Party which refuses to represent the working class, minorities, and women. GOP politicians must be sent home to find minimum wage jobs in their home states and learn the difficulties of the men, women, and children they were intended to support.
