For more than 100 years women have been sexually assaulted and harassed by men in positions of power. Men are aware that most women will say or do nothing for fear of retribution or simply personal feelings of shame and embarrassment.

During the questioning of Professor Christine Blasey Ford and Supreme Court candidate, Brett Kavanaugh, on Thursday, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham clearly demonstrated these facts. As an enlightened man I found his personal attacks against Ms. Ford and his colleagues on the left side of the aisle irresponsible and hate-filled.

The standard policy for right-wing politicians is to protect their fellow Republican men when they are accused of sexual deviance and label the woman a liar. I would like to inform these old, white men and make them face reality; this is the 21^st century. The 1900’s are behind us and our nation is a better place with the past only a lesson learned by true Americans.

Actor Jim Carrey tweeted the following and drew the picture at the top of this article.

“Ever wonder why women don’t report sexual abuse? Look no further than the hideous and hateful face of Lindsey Graham who offered nothing but anger and absolute disdain to Dr. Christine Blasey Ford following her courageous, and very credible, testimony. Talk about ‘a disgrace.’”

Old, white, and powerful men have failed our nation’s people for more than two centuries. Time for real change; time for women to stop asking for equality and begin taking what they deserve and is guaranteed by the Constitution.

If our government is to become less dysfunctional, we must rid the House and Senate of waste and greed. Replacing these failed old men with younger Americans and many more women will move our nation forward while Trump and his failed stooges will lose all power and become nothing more than a bad memory.
