Fact: the American voter is the least informed voter in all of the developed nations. Approximately 80 percent of Americans cast their ballots based on television ads or the misinformation offered by broadcast and cable networks.

I decided to write one of few articles I offer my fellow Americans because of the damage big money is doing to my beloved state of Nevada.

First there are two Republican candidates who have failed the people of my state for years.

Dean Heller is up for reelection in the senate. He has failed the people of Nevada and must be rejected by the men and women of the Silver State; he is a Trump lacky. Adam Laxalt wants to be our governor. He would bow to the demands of the Koch brothers and destroy the advances made by our departing Republican Governor, Brian Sandoval.

Most importantly there are two issues facing Nevada’s voters. Both will likely be won by millions of dollars in false advertising from big money, which will cost my state’s consumers hundreds of dollars each year.

Proposition three would end the monopoly of our state’s sole energy provider, NV Energy. Although NV Energy claims that they have not been financially involved in the contest, the truth is that they have spent more than $30 million attempting to protect their profits. Competition is always good for the consumer. Please vote “yes.”

Proposition five would require voter registration at the state’s Department of Motor Vehicles. This is another effort to suppress voter participation in our elections by right-wing politicians. They claim that Oregon and Colorado have passed similar laws which guarantee less voter fraud. Voter fraud is a fallacious claim by right-wing politicians. In these two states registration at the DMV is optional, not a requirement as it would be in Nevada.

Let’s all vote wisely on November 6^th and save our Constitution and the future of democracy in America. Republicans are the enemy of the majority of the American people. Time to rid our nation of the disease which has infested our nation over the last two years.
