22 months and 23 days; that’s how long Trump has been your illegitimate president, and the length of time all Republicans have bowed to his immoral and illegal agenda. Today Republican Senators decided to deny the bully’s  continuing support for his long-time benefactor.

In a 56-41 vote the Senate agreed not to continue military support to Saudi Arabia and to remove any American troops now supporting the Saudi war in Yemen.

“I hope … we send a loud and powerful message by passing this resolution. That we’re going to bring peace to that country and that the United States Congress is going to reassert its constitutional authority to make the body that makes war not the president,” Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), one of the sponsors of the resolution, told reporters.

The resolution was passed after the CIA offered irrefutable proof that Saudi Crown Prince Mohamad bin Salman personally ordered the torture and dismemberment of Washington Post journalist and dissident, Jamal Khashoggi. Trump has constantly denied that proof exists about the incident.

Trump’s denial is based on the fact that in 1995 Trump’s “empire” was crumbling. The Saudi Royal Family invested with Trump and saved him from losing many of his properties.

I remain unconvinced that Republicans will have the courage to do the right thing all of the time. They have displayed a penchant for arrogance; refusing to look at the reality of the 2018 midterm election. A pink wave favoring progressives scuttled many failed Republicans in the House and in Governorships in right-wing leaning states.

The revolution has begun; there are many more battles to be won. Let’s all begin today to encourage all Americans to vote on November 3, 2020. This is our country, not theirs.
