Never in the history of American politics has one man faced such a large number of investigations into suspected criminal activity. Trump displayed an extremely high level of ignorance when he declared his intention to seek the Republican nomination for the presidency. No person in the world experiences such close scrutiny as the man who wears the label of President of the United States.
Nothing proves this fact more definitively than the fact that in modern history Barrack Obama is the only president not to be exposed for at least a minor scandal from his past.
The latest investigation involves Trump’s pitiful inauguration. Did Trump profit from his “pity party? The answer is under investigation by federal prosecutors in Manhattan.
The story is that Ivanka Trump, the president-elect’s eldest daughter and a senior executive with the Trump Organization, was involved in negotiating the price the hotel charged the 58th Presidential Inaugural Committee for venue rentals.
Two vital questions will be addressed by prosecutors. One, did Trump overcharge guests at his Washington hotel? Two, were donors instructed to pay vendors directly, bypassing the inaugural committee in violation of tax laws?
“The fact that the inaugural committee did business with the Trump Organization raises huge ethical questions about the potential for undue enrichment,” said Marcus Owens, the former head of the division of the Internal Revenue Service that oversees nonprofits.
This was the beginning of a process which continues today by your ‘Criminal-in-Chief. Trump is using his presidency to grow his personal wealth. He is engaged in foreign business while he sits in the Oval Office; a clear violation of the emoluments clause.
Republicans are doing nothing about Trump’s unlawful actions. There are no real conservatives in the GOP.
I say, “lock him up,” “lock him up.” And Ivanka as well. It’s the right thing to do.
