Trump’s problems and bullying are f**king up our government. Nothing, absolutely nothing is getting done that is not on Trump’s agenda. Before Trump our government was dysfunctional. With Trump it has imploded into thousands of small parts and I’m not sure that it can ever be reassembled.

With all of this bullshit about Trump’s useless and costly ‘wall,’ an important act which needed renewal was ignored by Republicans. The Violence Against Women Act expired.

Fact: The least prosecuted and least punished crimes in America are sexual assault against women, and domestic violence. Because men have run this nation, and more importantly our judicial system from day one, (and poorly), crimes against women are often ignored or given less importance than crimes involving theft, violent actions which harm men, or crimes which are drug related.

Not only did Republicans ignore the VAWA, recently Trump’s deplorable choice for Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, change laws involving sexual assault committed at our colleges and universities. She wants to protect the men charged by coeds and make it less likely that they will come forward and charge their attackers. Today 50 percent of rapes on our campuses go un-reported and therefore un-punished. Thanks to a woman who is totally unqualified and a religious extremist, women’s rights have suffered another setback.

It sounds like I’m blaming Republicans for their failure to protect women and support their Constitutional rights. It’s more than that. I am stating that Republicans have been waging a war against women for decades. They obviously believe that women are inferior to men, and do not have the right to make decisions regarding their health and are unworthy of equal pay and equal opportunity in the workplace.

On November 6, 2018 women made a statement. Because of women, not only did Democrats and Independents regain control of the House, a ‘pink wave’ flooded all 50 states. On January 3, 2019, nearly 100 women will be sworn into congress; an all-time record.

Women are no longer asking for equal treatment, they are taking it. If Republicans continue to mistreat and ignore women, they will lose elections; and that’s a good thing.

Plan now to vote on November 3, 2020. Let’s take our country back. This is our country, not theirs.
