A biography of the late and former First Lady, Barbara Bush, titled “The Matriarch: Barbara Bush and the Making of an American Dynasty,” has some harsh words for your illegitimate president.
Mrs. Bush was a Trump critic long before he defiled the White House. In 1990, after watching Trump speak in Los Angeles, she said: “The Trumps are a new word, both of them,” Mrs. Bush wrote. “Trump now means Greed, selfishness and ugly. So sad.” She never changed he opinions of the orange man.
She was a huge critic of Trump’s crude and rude attitude towards others, and took offense to personal attacks levied against her son, Jeb, during the 2016 campaign.
After Trump became the leader of the Republican Party, Mrs. Bush found herself without a party. She had ‘countdown clock’ constructed to measure the seconds until Trump was no longer defiling the White House.
“After Trump’s rise, she saw it as a party she could not continue to support, a party she no longer recognized — even as one of her grandsons, George P. Bush, was on the ballot as a Republican running for re-election as Texas land commissioner,” author Susan Page wrote in an excerpt adapted from her new book, “The Matriarch: Barbara Bush and the Making of an American Dynasty.” The excerpt was published Wednesday in USA Today.
Trump is well-known for his attacks against the late, last Republican, John McCain. So, it’s no surprise that he displayed his complete lack of ‘class’ when responding to her autobiography.
In an interview in the New York Times, Trump said that she heard Mrs. Bush was “nasty” towards him.
“She should be,” he added, because “look what I did to her sons.”
I felt and still feel that when Trump attacked Jeb Bush personally, he embarrassed himself. It was obvious that he knew nothing about the issues and his only tactic was to demean his opponents. Sadly, voters who were entirely uninformed bought into his circus act.
He also attacked George W. Bush for invading Iraq. That’s fair; I was a huge critic of military action based on a lie to the American public. However, Trump’s criticism was based on a lie. Trump is on record as initially supporting the invasion.
Once again, an immoral and crude man is attempting to belittle one of the most respected women in modern American history who always displayed something Trump will never have, “class.”
I remain amazed that Trump continues to have supporters. They must share Trump’s support of white supremacy, Islamophobia, Homophobia, anti-Semitism, and misogyny, or they are the most ignorant people in the world. Trump has conned millions of our least intelligent people and that has made our country less great.
Personally, I am tired of having an immoral man in the White House who is cruel, a man without compassion, and a man who is mentally incompetent. I agree with Barbara Bush; Trump should be removed from office by invoking the 25th amendment. He most definitely qualifies.
