Trump and McConnell have many similarities. They share a belief in racism, homophobia, Islamophobia, misogyny, and are both dirty old me who have failed their country. They also share deep ties to Russia. Not only have both old men received assistance during their election bids, they have succumbed to Vladimir Putin’s demands on multiple occasions.
Trump’s cabinet and many of his closest advisers have debts to pay to Putin. It was Putin and Robert Mercer who chose Trump’s nominees, and McConnell who rushed their confirmation through the senate. It becomes more obvious with every passing day that the reason William Barr is redacting Mueller’s report is that if reveals a close, and lengthy relationship between Putin and Trump which began in 1987.
Trump has violated multiple laws since he received his gift from the Electoral College. Many of these violate the Constitution. One of his many incidents of ‘bending the law’ is the appointment of “acting directors” of his choice who are nothing more than puppets, after firing individuals whose replacements must receive senate confirmation. The most recent case involves the Department of Homeland Security.
On Sunday Trump called Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen into his office and lacked the courage to fire her. Instead he demanded her resignation. There are frequent reports of conflict between the two when Trump screamed at Ms. Nielsen.
Trump chose an acting director; another man who is a puppet of the orange man. This is unlawful.
“I am pleased to announce that Kevin McAleenan, the current U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner, will become Acting Secretary,” Trump tweeted. The law, though, says that the deputy secretary would become acting secretary, and, because there’s currently no deputy secretary, the agency’s third-ranking position, the undersecretary for management, would take over. That would be Claire Grady.
Trump continues to prove that he believes he is above the law. It’s time to put him in an orange jumpsuit, and I believe an unredacted Mueller report would do just that.
If there is nothing to hide, let the truth be known; period.
