Our nation has may problems; problems which have been ignored for more than two years. The world has problems. However, there is nothing more important than climate change. This is a battle we must win for our children and our children’s children. The right-wing has chosen to be ignorant, although they know the truth. Climate change caused by man is the greatest danger in the history of the world.
Ignoring or denying the truth will not make it go away. In just a few years many of the coastal cities around the world will no longer exist. As they did this year, droughts will continue, blizzards will be colder and heavier, tornadoes will be more powerful, and the force of hurricanes will cause greater damage and destruction.
Trump and his failed party are a small group of men and women who deny the facts. Hundreds of millions of people around the world accept the truth and are making efforts to slow and eventually stop the damage caused by climate change. Not Republicans.
Although the United States technically remains in agreement with the Paris Accord, a promise to reduce carbon emissions, Trump was the only world “leader” to refuse to sign the extension in 2017. This alone is enough of an embarrassment and a crime against humanity to remove Trump from office. He is not an American and not an American president. Trump refuses to serve any American who is not a millionaire or billionaire. The rich lie when they falsely claim that they do not believe in climate change; they are protecting their bloated profits. The oil and gas companies are desperate to continue raping the world’s people. Large corporations seek the repeal of regulations which forbid polluting our air, drinking water, and our soil. Trump agrees with them and will be remembered as the “anti-environmental president.” Anything which is not profitable is not of interest to Trump.
America is at its best when we have a common enemy. This pending disaster affects the entire planet. We must join together and denounce Trump and his party of cowards and hypocrites. The situation is nearing a ‘point of no return;’ there isn’t much time. Ridding our nation of right-wing politicians and their fascist leader can save our future.
If our government won’t serve us, we must take our country back.
“This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or exercise their revolutionary right to overthrow it.” Abraham Lincoln
