Republicans continue to use 9/11 to incur emotions of fear and hatred. They twist words, omit facts, and lie to support their vile and hate-filled agenda. They continue to ignore the truth and the needs and wishes of the majority.

For years Democrats acted like cowards. Instead of standing up to Republican bullies they ran in fear. Winning an election became more important than doing the right thing. On January 3, 2019 the youngest and most diverse Congress in history was sworn into office. Among them were Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, an Hispanic and the youngest member of Congress in history. The first two Muslim women in history also took the oath of office; Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib.

These three truthful and fearless young women have revitalized a failing group of Democratic men who had forgotten why they were elected. They are playing ‘truth to power’ and that’s scaring the s**t out of the right-wing. The truth is their greatest enemy.

Because Fox Noise is the right-wing propaganda machine, their unwarranted and menial attacks on these three real Americans will never cease. They are standing up for the American people while the right wing continues to bow to big business. After Ilhan Omar made comments directed at the knee-jerk reaction of the Bush administration after the cowardly attacks on 9/11, the right-wing New York Post twisted her words to claim that she was not as serious as she might have been about the tragedy. The truth is that she rightfully denounced the violations of the first and fourth amendments after the misnamed ‘Patriot Act’ was hastily passed by congress.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez jumped to her defense.

“I’m not going to quote the NY Post’s horrifying, hateful cover,” AOC wrote. “Here’s 1 fact: @IlhanMN is a cosponsor of the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund. She‘s done more for 9/11 families than the GOP who won’t even support healthcare for 1st responders – yet are happy to weaponize her faith.”

Rashida Tlaib also told the truth. I almost feel sorry for the racist right-wing and its bigoted politicians and supporters who lack the mental competency to battle with these young women who are wise beyond their y.

“They do this all the time to us, especially women of color … they take our words out of context because they’re afraid because we speak truth, we speak truth to power,” Tlaib said of her fellow Muslim in Congress.

“She was talking about uplifting people by supporting their civil liberties and civil rights,” Tlaib added. As a refugee herself, “she sees what terrorism can do, she sees what violence can do to a whole country, to a whole people.”

The old, very white men on the right side of the aisle hate the fact that with every passing day America’s diversity is growing. Very soon there will be no pure-white men and women in America, and that’s a good thing. Our strength, our power, our beauty, and our intellect is in the hands of generations to come which will be far more “American” than our nation has ever been.

Those who continue to believe in white supremacy and forms of bigotry should leave now and choose to live in a fascist nation, or end their prejudices and look forward to an America which may actually become a great country.
