When Democrats and Independents retake control of the Senate on November 3, 2020, our nation’s government will once again belong to the America people. The two most treasonous men in Washington will either be removed from government or become powerless. Trump will be exiled to his garish gold tower, and Mitch McConnell will be nothing but a drooling old fool.
Trump is a Russian agent whose purpose is to destroy our nation’s government while enhancing his personal wealth. McConnell has obstructed legislation benefitting the American people for more than 30 years. He will be known as the worst senator in our nation’s history.
In 2009 McConnell created the “party of no.” He promised that “his party” would do nothing as long as “that black man” remained in the White House. He kept that promise and continues to do nothing positive for the American people. His time is past; he has failed the American people for far too long.
Every politician in Washington who has overstayed his or her welcome and become incompetent is afraid of the truth. Our form of government has failed, and the culprit is unbridled capitalism. The middle class is disappearing and the gap between the wealthy and lower income Americans is widening every day. The most important issues which have been completely ignored by Trump and his circle of sinners are healthcare and education. All three of these unacceptable conditions can be repaired with a simple act by two branches of our government. Wealthy individuals and large corporations must pay their fair share of taxes. Forcing the one-percent of wealthiest Americans to contribute to universal healthcare and free or low-cost education is not only the right thing to do it will save our nation from its inevitable demise.
The path our nation is on today will end the America I knew for my first 70 years. We have become regressive and profit before people has become our government’s new motto. The American dream is dying for the vast majority. Only the top one-percent enjoy the pleasures and privileges of living in the wealthiest nation in the world.
Democratic Socialism is not what Trump, his failed party, or the right-wing propaganda machine, Fox Noise, is telling you. It simply means remaking America into a nation which cherishes businesses and employees equally. It supports the idea of rewarding the working class for their contributions to the success of the companies for which they work.
In the 1960’s if a business reported a net profit of 30 percent, it was considered successful. Today large corporations are making 300, 400, and 500 percent profit margins while their employee’s wages and benefits remain stagnant.
McConnell has vowed to block any legislation which would be fair to all Americans. He is determined to follow Trump’s lead and move us into our nation’s dark past and allow capitalists to receive even larger profits.
“If I’m still the majority leader in the Senate think of me as the Grim Reaper. None of that stuff is going to pass,” McConnell said while speaking to community leaders in Owensboro, Ky.
He has thrown down a challenge, and we know what we must do.
McConnell will be 78 on November 3, 2020 when he seeks reelection; Trump will be 74. The average age of all Americans is 37.8 years-of-age. McConnell, Trump, and dozens of other old men in Washington are too old and too regressive to represent this young nation. They are the past and continue to reject the future. They are completely useless and serve themselves, not we, the people. America needs younger, more progressive men and women representing them in government. Please, please, vote.
